Co-Founder & Senior Managing Director
John has guided entrepreneurs through more than 300 company sales, mergers and capital raises over his 35-year career. He’s built three investment banks from the ground up, which means he knows both the exhilaration and the weight of building something that lasts. At Kensington Park, he brings that hard-earned judgment to founders facing the most important transaction of their careers.
Before launching Kensington, John co-founded Hyde Park Capital and served as Managing Director of Healthcare Investment Banking at Raymond James. He began his career as an engineer at IBM and Motorola, contributing to the launch of IBM’s first PCs and Motorola’s first consumer cell phone — early lessons in how breakthrough innovation becomes market value.
John graduated magna cum laude with a BSE in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Duke University, where he was inducted into Tau Beta Pi. He later earned his MBA from The Wharton School.

Co-Founder & Senior Managing Director
Berry has spent more than 30 years at the intersection of Wall Street and entrepreneurship. He built and led quantitative research teams at Salomon Brothers, Credit Suisse, and UBS, where he was Managing Director and Head of U.S. Quantitative Research, earning top rankings from Institutional Investor. Along the way, he launched two ventures of his own: Abacus Analytics, a consulting platform for equity trading simulations, and Precision Portfolios, a hedge fund built around pricing inefficiencies.
For founders, Berry brings a rare combination: the rigor of a Wall Street quant, the judgment of a seasoned dealmaker, and the perspective of an entrepreneur who has built companies himself. He knows what it takes to prepare a business to stand up to buyer scrutiny and how to position it to command premium value.
Berry graduated magna cum laude with dual degrees in economics and international relations from the University of Virginia, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and earned his MBA from The Wharton School.

At Raymond James, he helped guide the firm’s early growth, working on offerings for CDI, Intelogic Trace, Sikes Corporation, Iverson Technology, Heico, and Norin Corp. and leading financings and sales to Aetna, Lennar, and Pilkington Visioncare for Minnesota Power and from General Electric. Mark Cleveland has lived the founder’s journey many times over — starting and selling six companies, taking one public, and navigating both acquisitions and being acquired. That means when he advises entrepreneurs on their own exits, he speaks from lived experience, not theory.
His career spans software, logistics, and U.S. manufacturing, from leading mission-critical transaction processing and fleet management systems to launching and scaling ventures in maritime operations, cycling, and consumer products. Along the way, he’s been named Nashville’s Entrepreneur of the Year, earned the Tennessee Governor’s Award for Trade Excellence, and was recognized among the region’s Most Admired CEOs while leading three different companies.
Mark brings optimism, resilience, and a clear founder’s perspective to M&A. He loves helping entrepreneurs negotiate outcomes that reward their work, protect their teams, and set the stage for what comes next.
